Beautiful ceremonial armchair in carved mahogany, in its white lacquer and gold rechampi Empire period, stamped JACOB D RUE MESLÉE (association between Georges Jacob and his son François Honoré, known as Jacob Desmalter, between 1803 and 1813).
Square backrest with pediment decorated with a double motif of a lotus suite in opposition to a flower.
The cylindrical armrests sculpted with rosettes in their terms, originate from magnificent connecting blocks in the shape of a lotus flower sculpted with long palmettes.
The armrest consoles in the extension of the front legs, the whole forming a double baluster sculpted with water leaves.
The belt, embellished with a flower from which olive branches emerge.

A series of six very similar armchairs delivered in 1810 for the bedroom of the small apartments of Empress Marie-Louise at the Tuileries Palace, stamped Jacob D rue Meslée. Today kept at the Château de Malmaison.

Beautiful old point tapestry taking up the carved patterns of the armchair.

Good state of conservation, very good stability (without reinforcement).

Empire period. Circa 1805-1810

As with all of my art objects and furniture, I am very careful to be able to offer them to you at a very low expert estimate.

My objects are photographed naturally, without going through a photo studio. Because of this, you can enjoy them as they really are.
