Superb cabinet chair, in carved mahogany, mahogany veneer and black patinated beech.

The backrest with wide openwork band with finely carved trellis decoration.

The lion-headed armrests, the forefeet in hock and the hinds in sabre.

The openwork composition of the backrest is strictly identical to that of a set delivered by Jacob Frères, not stamped, in 1800 for the Tuileries Palace, then installed in 1807 in Fontainebleau in a dining room of the princes' apartment.

J-P Samoyault, Mobilier Français Consulat et Empire, Paris 2009, p. 66, fig.115.

Beautiful quality green leather trim, saw tooth leather trim.
