Beautiful pair of candlesticks in gilded bronze and brown patina from the Consulate "Return from Egypt" period, representing caryatids.
Base with friezes of water leaves, laurel and interlacing.
Castle mark on each base: crowned hallmark with inverted S and T.

During the short period of the Consulate, from which this pair of torches comes, the furniture, bronze furnishings and decorations took on the "Egyptian" trend influenced by the Egyptian campaign (1798-1801). This fashion continued in a sparse way until the end of the 1st Empire.

Consulate-Empire period

Very good state of preservation.
Gilding cleaned.

As with most of my art objects and furniture, I am very careful to be able to offer them to you at a very low expert estimate.
