Beautiful mahogany and mahogany veneer psyche with cariatid decor, embellished with its original mercury mirror.
Fine and rich ornamentation of gilded chiseled bronzes for the cariatides in sheath declining scrolls, palmettes, anthemic and feet in sandals.
The pediment, framed on either side of a Greek vase, hosts in its tympanum a tazza decoration in the center of two horns of abundance unfolding in winding.
The cornice is decorated with a central rosette set with anthemic foliage and two stars.
The mirror, tilting, is framed by an outer frieze of lotus flowers and an inner frieze of anthems and fine row of pearls.
 
This beautiful set rests on generous leonine feet before and after, blackened wood, carved with a large acanthus leaf crossed by a golden laurel branch.
 
Consulat period, late XVIIIth - early XIXth.
 
Work attributed to Jacob Frères (1796-1803): association of François Honoré Georges Jacob Desmalter and his brother Georges II Jacob, until the latter’s death in 1803.
